POLAND, 10.25.16 – Rain did not dampen the spirits or lessen the generosity of the more than 200 people who attended Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice’s 13th Annual Autumn Night Out at the Poland Spring Resort on Friday.
While the fireworks to recognize AHCH’s 50th anniversary were canceled by the heavy rain, thunder and lightning, attendees enjoyed an evening of food, friendship and fun all for a good cause. Many left with unique items that were auctioned by Maine humorist Gary Crocker and hundreds of silent auction items were also available. More than $70,000 was raised at the event, and thanks to the event’s sponsors, all of the proceeds will be able to be used to assist AHCH patients who do not have the ability to pay for much-needed services.
“Our agency is grateful for the overwhelming support we continue to receive from both individuals and businesses,’’ said Kenneth Albert, President and CEO of AHCH. “What amazed me was the number of people who donated items, both large and small. The volume of support clearly shows that AHCH is seen as an important community resource and that our work does not go unnoticed. I thank all of those who helped make the event such a big success, including the sponsors, gift donors, those who bought tickets, our staff, the many volunteers and our gracious hosts.”
Premier event sponsors were Harvard Pilgrim Health Care; TD Bank, and TD Wealth Management. Other event sponsors are; Cross Insurance; Easy Payment Solutions; Employee Benefit Solutions; Lebel and Harriman, LLC; Winxnet, Brann & Isaacson; HealthWyse; Hammond Tractor; Modern Woodmen of America – Paul Colasante; Norman, Hanson & DeTroy, LLC; Poland Spring Water; Principal Financial Group; Suzanne and Rupert Grover; Auburn Animal Center; Auburn Savings Bank; Century 21 – Angie White / Deb Ouellette; Coca-Cola; Central Maine Federal Credit Union; Jim’s Auto Sales; Penmor Lithographers; Pitstop Fuels; and Skelton, Taintor and Abbott.
